There are media reports that Chris Coleman has agreed on a contract extension that will see the Wales manager stay until the 2018 World Cup.
His contract was due to expire after the Euros, but the Wales Federation has managed to convince the manager to stay beyond this date.
Chris Coleman has managed to take Wales to their first international tournament since 1958 will be hoping that he can accomplish the same thing and take his team to the 2018 World Cup.
There were reports however that Coleman has demanded change from the Football Association of Wales before committing to staying with the national team. He wanted changes in the way the teams work as he does not want only a one-off campaign. Chris Coleman believes that Wales has the potential to achieve great things on the footballing scenes, but they need changes in the way the team is prepared.
Chris Coleman took charge of the team in 2012 after the death of Gary Speed and managed to take the team to the Euros in France. Wales will be facing Slovakia, England, and Russia in one of the tightest groups of the competition.
He will be hoping that he can achieve the same thing again and take Wales all the way to the 2018 World Cup. For this, he will have to rely on the form of his star players Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey. There is also a good crop of younger players coming through the Welsh ranks and should be able to provide more choices to Chris Coleman as he looks to get Wales qualified for their first World Cup since 1958 where they reached the quarter-finals. They were eliminated by Brazil, who went on and win the tournament.
